Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools® (PC4HS®) - Background

By PC4HS Staff

Here is a summary of the Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools® (PC4HS®) initiative.

  • The Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools® (PC4HS®) program is being rolled out nationally with the support of the International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA) and a Consortium of schools under a non-profit organization (“Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools, Inc.”). Process Cleaning successfully applies principles derived from Deming / Systems Thinking for the K-12 school environment. It’s been working for nearly 10 years in the Washoe County School District (100 schools) in Reno NV, and has been successfully introduced in Douglas County Schools (Nevada) and most recently, Lyon County Schools (Nevada), with others expressing interest.

  • Since Process Cleaning works (and schools desperately need it), the decision was made to establish a non-profit consortium of schools that would take the message to other schools, constituting a networking platform for “schools helping schools”. Several schools nationally have shown strong interest in PC4HS (these include schools in FL, OH, IN) and as these and other schools adopt the program, they will be invited into the Consortium.
